Determine Your Optimum Solution in 3 Easy steps

A simple Google search for "network solutions" will provide nearly 23 million search results. Everyone has a solution, but your network needs and goals are very unique. So, how do you determine the best solution for you?

Follow these three steps to make sure you don’t get sold just any solution, but the optimum network solution that meets your project goals and expectations, doesn’t cost you more than need be and provides you with future flexibility.

1. Define what you want: The optimum network solution should first and foremost give you what you want. So, before deciding on a solution make sure you clearly know what you want.

2. Demand a higher value per dollar spent: The perfect solution is one that is low cost. Just because you spent more doesn’t necessarily mean it is the best. It is not about being cheap or skimming back on expected performance, but about being smart in utilizing the resources already in place. Knowing your current assets is key.

o Evaluate your headend: It’s as simple as knowing precisely what you have and what your system is capable of. Conduct a performance test. Do an asbuilt rack profile and wiring diagram. You won’t get sold what you don’t need and you’ll be sure to get what you do need.

o Evaluate your outdoor network: Before you invest in an upgrade or a new technology, be sure you know what your fiber network or coax network is capable of.

3. Choose a flexible solution: No one knows what the future holds. In order to be prepared for the unknown, choose a network solution that can easily adapt at little costs. A flexible solution will also cost you less in the long run.
